Brenda’s and Zick’s expertise in the areas of publishing law, copyright and trademark law, and higher education law strengthen and extend Archstone’s well-established business law and health law practices. Brenda and Zick share Archstone’s commitment to practicing law with expertise and integrity, using a business-minded and creative problem-solving approach to deliver high quality, responsive legal services.
Brenda and Zick will continue to provide creative legal solutions to authors, artists and other creators; publishers and media companies; colleges and universities; businesses and educational, scientific and cultural organizations. Their presence bolsters Archstone Law Group’s intellectual property and business law services and will complement the firm’s well-established presence across the health care industry.
Brenda Ulrich is an intellectual property lawyer who advises clients on copyright and trademark law issues, with a special focus on publishing and higher education law-related matters. Brenda provides innovative solutions for the problems of creative people, including colleges and universities, authors, educational and cultural organizations, and retailers of consumer goods. Brenda negotiates and drafts publishing, licensing and consulting agreements; advises clients on creating and implementing intellectual property policies; and guides her clients’ on managing and protecting their copyright and trademark portfolios. Brenda will be a Partner at Archstone Law Group.
Zick Rubin has practiced publishing and media law, and copyright, trademark, and higher education law for the past 30 years. He drafts and negotiates publishing, licensing, and collaboration agreements, advises educational, scientific, and cultural organizations on intellectual property issues, devises strategies for copyright and trademark protection, and helps his clients to resolve intellectual property disputes. A former psychology professor at Harvard and Brandeis Universities, Zick is a textbook and trade book author. Zick will be Of Counsel to Archstone Law Group.
Both Brenda and Zick are active members of the National Assocication of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and the Textbook and Academic Authors Association (TAA).
